One action that can be taken at any time is to phone CBC Audience Relations and tell them what you think about anything you hear on CBC. The number is 1-866-306-4636.
ATTENTION CONCERT PRESENTERS! Are you concerned that the erosion of classical music exposure on public radio will have an adverse effect on your concert season? Download the pictures to the right of this text (right-click and “save as…”) and insert them in your program! Vertical and horizontal versions available.
An action to be taken throughout the federal election campaign is to ask candidates running for office one or all of the following questions: “If elected, would you
- ensure that candidates for the CBC Board of Directors be required to have minimum experience with public broadcasting and/or the arts and culture so that the Canadian people can feel that they have confidence in those who are running our public broadcaster?
- restore Radio 2 to the one million Canadian listeners who have been abandoned?
- restore the CBC Radio Orchestra as a National Broadcasting Orchestra?
- restore competitions that honour our young performers and composers (rather than make them into a Survival-style Reality TV show as Mark Steinmetz has suggested).”
