Listeners share sense of betrayal
Thursday, October 9th, 2008 People of all ages wrote in. Many were young people protesting the
stereotype that CBC aficionados are a bunch of grey-haired retirees. They
considered Radio 2 part of their education. As one well-respected member of

credit for ‘building a fire in the bellies of gifted musicians’ to study and
practise hard … Someday, maybe they would perform on the CBC! …
Extraordinary work doesn’t just happen; a good musician needs something to
aspire to!”

THERE’S been a rumbling sound within music circles the past few weeks, and it’s getting louder and grumpier every day. We miss our music — the classical music no longer being played on the “New Radio 2.”
